Unimog is nowhere near best either. For example snow, unimog gets very easy stuck in stock form with it’s weight and small tire size compared to the weight.
Worse? This just proves that you haven’t even driven the new model versus the old model. Believe or not, but it has more clearance, more wheel travel, much more advanced 4wd system. Only thing that truly have gotten worse, is a little extra weight that it has nowadays.
Why in the heck you start to argue, if you know nothing about the things you are comparing? Your message proves that you truly know nothing about the newer model.
What does plastic have to do with anything? If you want mod your car anway, rip the plastic’s off and put proper protection in the front, bottom and rear.
I think «too much plastic» is just too old and used defence to put down newer 4×4’s. The 4th Gen Pajero has many good things and it’s very smart option. One of the last 4×4’s that provide lockers on axles by factory. The old Pajero were just as weak in the forest, I don’t know why someone thing that crushed metal looks any better.
You know.. kamaz also won dakar a few times. but it doesn’t mean that it’s a good truck. 🙂 the one in dakar has only the name, but everything else is modified and totaly different than the stock model. the same thing is with the pajero. 🙂
i think, it’s a good SUV but 4 offroading it has too much plastic parts. drinving on sand or gravel is one thing, but mudding in a forrest.. 4 things like that we have Pajero I and II with some modifications.. 🙂
@Richboy219 Pajero’s off road capabilities have steadily gotten worse just like pretty much every manufacturers models. If you say that ground clearance and wheel travel is unnecessary and stupid it shows that YOU have never driven off road properly and therefore we can end this discussion. Now please go have a look at an Unimog to see an off roader. Just for the record I never said that Pajero is not a good SUV. It’s just not the best ever off roader you claimed it to be.
Dude, it doesn’t need some stupid wheel travel or a much higher ground clearance to do good on off-roading driving. Pajero’s/montero’s have always been known for great at off-roading. You never driven one off-raod i bet so why are you sitting up here bitching? The pajero’s do have high ground clearance and i never had a problem with getting stuck. And none of my pretty plastic bits fell off either. Stay in denial!
