@flatblackstrat I have no idea what your last sentence is saying. Bottom line is this- our economy is currently stronger than yours, our banks don’t give out stupid loans because there are regulations in place and our living standards are higher.
@flatblackstrat Yeh ofcourse our economy has been a bit instable but it never went into recession! The USA on the other hand went through economic hell 10% unemployment and ridiculously low interest rates (which still failed to stimulate the economy). Our currency isn’t unstable and only dipped during the GFC and now is almost as strong as the US dollar. Yeh we do have resources and no China isn’t stockpiling they are just demanding resources to build there factories and what not.
@mdr279 Are you kidding me. My best friend is from Perth and you guys have been going through numerous bubbles and pops over the last 3 years. Your houses are so expensive people can only afford to live in shacks. You have an extremely unstable currency that jumps like none I’ve ever seen and your whole economy right now is booming from your natural resources that China is stock piling so they can manipulate prices in the future. All of your industry in Manufacturing is mainly U.S. based.

No, the USA is not the biggest exporter in the world, China is, and the only reason why you are bigger importers than Australia is simply because you have a larger population- by no means meaning that your economy is better. Australia has some of the highest rating universities in the world, arounnd 15 in the top 200, which is remarkable considering our population.
@flatblackstrat Firstly, I never said we are superior in entertainment and I recognise that most Australian films are pathetic. However, our economy is currenlty clearly superior and during the massive GFC that YOUR country caused, Australia never went into recession and unemployment never reached 6% whereas it reached a ridiculous 10% in the US. Furthermore, Australia’s living standards are superior to the USA’s where during events such as Katrina, your govt response was pathetic.

It not entertainment because you Europeans and Aussies watch all of our TV and your pathetic attempt at TV and movies (Minus a minuscule amount of decent flicks) just get laughed at or thrown in the garbage bin while ours are the top grossing around the world.
